About our
department:
The Union Grove Volunteer Fire Department was established May
13, 1964 to provide fire protection and suppression in the Union
Grove community of Iredell county in North Carolina. The Union
Grove Volunteer Fire Department also assists with mutual aid for
our neighboring fire districts of Harmony, Central,
Wilkes-Iredell, Buck Shoals & Yadkin County. We currently staff
45 volunteers. In 1999, the Union Grove Volunteer Fire
Department established a first responder program to assist
Iredell Emergency Medical Service in medical emergencies. All
first responders are trained and certified by the State of North
Carolina to a minimum of Medical Responder, however 14 of our
members are trained to the Emergency Medical Technician Basic
level (EMT-B). The business side of the organization is managed
by the Board of Directors, which are elected for 3 year terms.
The station is staffed with two personal during the daytime
hours Monday through Friday.
Fall is here and that means it will soon
be time to turn on the heat. Before you do this, please take the time to
clean out your heating system and change the filters. Burning dust can
lead you to believe that your house is on fire or in some cases it can start a
fire.
